Old-Fashioned Cream Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked pie shell, homemade or store-bought
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/3 stick butter, melted
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Beat eggs, add sugars and flour, mix well. Add cream, butter, salt and vanilla, mix well.
  3. Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell. Bake for 45 minutes or until set. Cover pie edge with foil if crust begins to brown too quickly.
  4. Cool pie on wire rack at room temperature for 1 hour. Transfer to refrigerator and chill for 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow filling to fully set and flavors to meld.
