Sweet & Savory Meatball Sub on a Stick


  • Meatball ingredients:
  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 1 tablesoon diced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 can crescent roll dough (cut into 10 strips)
  • 10 wooden skewer sticks
  • 1 cup Mozzarella (shredded)
  • Sweet glaze ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon mustard


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine hamburger, garlic, pepper, seasoned salt, onion, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce and parmesan.
  3. Roll into 30, one-inch meatballs.
  4. Open cans of refrigerated crescent rolls and cut into 10 long strips.
  5. Thread dough and three meatballs onto wooden skewer, alternating with dough and meatballs, ending with dough. Lay skewer on the parchment covered baking sheet.
  6. For the Sweet Glaze, combine ketchup, brown sugar and mustard. Brush the tops of each meatball with the glaze, glaze only the meatball, not the dough. Bake 20-30 minutes, or until the meatballs are thoroughly cooked.
  7. Sprinkle the hot bread with Mozzarella as soon as you remove them from the oven so that it melts.
